Baseball Recap: Flanagan Falls Short of Doral Academy in the Playoffs

Flanagan and Doral Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Flanagan had to settle for second. They fell 8-4 to the Firebirds. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Miguel Colmenares made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs while going 2-for-4. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Flanagan is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 10-16 otherwise.

Flanagan's defeat dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Doral Academy, they pushed their record up to 23-5-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

While Flanagan had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
