Football Game Preview: Gateway Regional Gators vs. Mastery Warrior

The Gateway Regional Gators will challenge the Mastery Warrior at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mastery took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Gateway Regional, who comes in off a win.

Gateway Regional is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 45-7 win over Gloucester Catholic. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Gators as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Gateway Regional's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aidan Barbato, who rushed for 86 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Gateway Regional was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 262 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Gateway Regional didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Devin Forman, Jack Yerka, and Dj Binck picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Mastery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a hard 28-14 fall against Haddon Township.

Mastery's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Gateway Regional, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Gateway Regional against Mastery when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 33-0 victory. Will the Gators repeat their success, or do the Warrior have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
