Softball Recap: Union's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Union entered their tilt with Northeast Lauderdale on Saturday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 13-12 W against the Trojans. This was a revenge game for the Yellowjackets: when they faced off against the Trojans back in March, they had to take a 10-8 loss.

Aspen Lovern was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Tiara Campbell was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Union's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Northeast Lauderdale, they dropped their record down to 12-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Union will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Clarkdale at 2:00 p.m. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Yellowjackets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Northeast Lauderdale, they will square off against Leake Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
