Volleyball Recap: East Carteret Triumphs + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Carteret, East Carteret was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Havelock Rams, sneaking past 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Mariners in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

East Carteret was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 17-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-10.

Ashley Mintz was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 21 digs and three aces. Mintz is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Mintz wasn't the only good server: East Carteret was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

East Carteret's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Havelock, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

East Carteret will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rams: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
