Baseball Recap: Sanborn Regional Comes Up Short

Sanborn Regional had lost 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-9 to make it 12. They lost 8-1 to the Pelham Pythons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Pelham, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. That seven run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Pelham's part, the team relied heavily on Jake Davidson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was Davidson's first of the season. Nick Muise was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sanborn Regional is set to square off against their familiar foe Coe-Brown Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Pelham will challenge rival Hanover at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pythons 3.2, the Bears 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
