Basketball Recap: Triton Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Triton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top against the Harnett Central Trojans by a score of 66-58. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Hawks were down 26-10 in the second quarter.

Triton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Demarbiaz Devane led the charge by dropping a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. What's more, Devane also posted three blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jamaury Taylor, who went 9-for-18 to rack up 24 points.

Triton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matches.

Triton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.6 points over those games. As for Harnett Central, they dropped their record down to 10-14 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.
