Volleyball Recap: Making Waves Academy Comes Up Short

Making Waves Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hercules Titans.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Making Waves Academy sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-15, 23-25, 25-13, 23-25, 15-9.

Making Waves Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Hercules, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Making Waves Academy and Hercules could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Marlins (ranked 1220th) will meet Quarry Lane (ranked 299th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hercules will take on Saint Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (492 vs. 136).
