Baseball Recap: Spearville Takes a Loss

Spearville fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Cimarron on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bluejays by a score of 5-4. The Lancers haven't had much luck with the Bluejays recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Danny Alcala was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Layson Wheaton, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Spearville's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Cimarron, they moved to 7-4-2 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bluejays beat Spearville by a score of 5-3 later that day.
