Softball Recap: Fort LeBoeuf Comes Up Short

If Fort LeBoeuf was riding high fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Meadville on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bison fell just short of the McDowell Trojans by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Bison were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Kendra Tobin made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kallie Stull, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Fort LeBoeuf's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for McDowell, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Fort LeBoeuf will challenge rival General McLane at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, McDowell is set to take on their familiar foe Harbor Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Trojans 1.2, the Huskies 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
