Basketball Recap: Kassie Koski's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Raymond/South Bend over Onalaska

After flying high against North Beach last Friday, Raymond/South Bend came back down to earth. The Raymond/South Bend Ravens took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Onalaska Loggers on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Ravens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Loggers are ranked 30th).

Several Ravens players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kassie Koski, who posted 15 points and six rebounds. Ava Baugher was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.

Even though they lost, Raymond/South Bend smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Raymond/South Bend's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Onalaska, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Raymond/South Bend will host Chief Leschi at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Raymond/South Bend is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season. As for Onalaska, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Rainier at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
