Preview: Clarkson/Leigh Patriots vs. David City Scouts
Clarkson/Leigh has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the David City Scouts at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. David City took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Clarkson/Leigh, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Clarkson/Leigh strolled past Stanton with points to spare, taking the game 51-36. Clarkson/Leigh pushed the score to 45-25 by the end of the third, a deficit Stanton cut but never quite recovered from.
Trey Steffensmeier went supernova for Clarkson/Leigh, scoring 16 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Korbin Lemburg, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, David City suffered a tough 58-33 loss at the hands of Wilber-Clatonia on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points David City has scored all season.
Clarkson/Leigh's victory bumped their record up to 2-16. As for David City, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-9 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Clarkson/Leigh, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 69-51 loss to David City in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Clarkson/Leigh avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
