Baseball Recap: Colfax Takes a Loss

Colfax extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 10-13-1. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Oakmont Vikings. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 6-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in April of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cole Hudson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Jono Cleek also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Oakmont, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since February 21st.

On Oakmont's side, Henry Gumpert looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Gumpert has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Marc Aguas was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Christan Stella, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

While Colfax had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
