Baseball Recap: Quincy Comes Up Short

Quincy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Quincy Notre Dame Raiders. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their loss to the Raiders from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Trace Routh made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kade Parkhill, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Quincy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Quincy Notre Dame, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quincy will face off against Belleville West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quincy Notre Dame, they will square off against Pleasant Plains at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
