Baseball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

The Heritage Mountaineers didn't have quite enough to beat the Red Bank Lions on Friday and fell 5-4. The Mountaineers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gaven French put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Hayden Sanders made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 25-13. As for Red Bank, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-16.

Heritage didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 loss against Soddy Daisy on the 10th. As for Red Bank, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-4 victory against South-Doyle on the 10th.
