Basketball Recap: Christian Life Preparatory Falls to Chisholm Trail Academy in First Game of Season

Christian Life Preparatory had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. The contest between the Knights and the Chisholm Trail Academy Blazers didn't end well, with the Knights falling 72-54. The loss continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Blazers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Defeat or not, Christian Life Preparatory got some senior leadership from David Wardlaw and Greg Tarpley. Wardlaw went 5-for-11 to rack up 15 points in addition to eight boards and three steals, while Tarpley shot 50% from the field en route to 12 points and six rebounds. Tarpley is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Niles Bennett was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Max Castro was nothing short of spectacular for Chisholm Trail Academy: he went 7-for-16 on his way to 24 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Victor Aispuro, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 16 points.

Christian Life Preparatory didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-36 loss against Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool on the 11th. As for Chisholm Trail Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-36 victory against DasCHE on the 11th.
