Softball Recap: Guerin Catholic Comes Up Short

If Guerin Catholic was feeling good fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Pike on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Eagles took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hamilton Heights Huskies on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 back in April.

Guerin Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Fritsche, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Guerin Catholic has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Hamilton Heights, they moved to 11-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Guerin Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 9-8 defeat against Seymour on the 17th. As for Hamilton Heights, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Greenfield-Central on the 17th.
