Recap: Pike Central Chargers vs. North Posey Vikings
The Pike Central Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 44-21 walloping at the hands of North Posey. Pike Central has not had much luck with North Posey recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Pike Central saw an underclassman step up: Ava Miller scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Miller posted two or more blocks.
North Posey's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyssa Heath, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Heath also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Elle jo Johnson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six steals.
Pike Central dropped their record down to 2-18 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for North Posey, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Princeton the next time they take the court. North Posey will head out to face Princeton at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Pike Central will host them at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.
