Soccer Game Preview: Colonial vs. Hagerty

The Colonial Grenadiers will square off against the Hagerty Huskies at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Colonial's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for ten straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Colonial fell victim to University and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 5-0 to the Cougars.

Meanwhile, Hagerty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Lake Highland Prep. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Highlanders are ranked eighth).

Hagerty's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5-1. As for Colonial, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

Colonial suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Hagerty in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Colonial avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
