Softball Recap: North Mason Comes Up Short

North Mason made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Port Angeles, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Roughriders by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Roughriders: they've now lost six in a row.

Addyson Roy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on 12 hits.

On the hitting side, North Mason saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrianna Crowley, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

North Mason's loss dropped their record down to 6-5-1. As for Port Angeles, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-1-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Mason will host Sequim at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16.78 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Port Angeles, they will challenge Bainbridge at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Roughriders are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
