Woodland is 0-8 against Timberland since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Wolverines will face off against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Woodland will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Wagener-Salley on Thursday. The Wolverines put the hurt on the War Eagles with a sharp 15-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the War Eagles: they've now won four in a row.
Corinne Westbury was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Those triples marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Mccarthy, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Grace Milligan, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Woodland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wagener-Salley only posted an OBP of .300.
Meanwhile, Timberland had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Phoenix.
Timberland got a massive performance out of Addison Sellars, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emilee Waters, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.
Woodland's record now sits at 6-4. As for Timberland, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Woodland hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .435. However, it's not like Timberland struggles in that department as they've averaged .534. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Woodland suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Timberland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
