Volleyball Game Preview: Chesnee Eagles vs. Landrum Cardinals + Official Tickets

The Chesnee Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Landrum Cardinals at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Chesnee sitting on three straight wins and Landrum on nine.

On Tuesday, Chesnee got the win against High Point Academy by a conclusive 3-0.

Chesnee was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-16, 25-19.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Landrum took on Blacksburg on Tuesday. The Cardinals blew past the Wildcats 3-0.

Landrum walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-15, 25-19, 25-20.

Chesnee's win bumped their record up to 17-4-1. As for Landrum, their victory bumped their record up to 19-7-2.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Chesnee has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8 aces per game. However, it's not like Landrum struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Chesnee came out on top in a nail-biter against Landrum in their previous matchup back in September, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
