Baseball Recap: Summit Wins Going Away Against Eagle Valley

Summit had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Eagle Valley on Saturday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Devils with a sharp 16-3 victory. The contest marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season.

Summit got a massive performance out of Matty Misch, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave Misch a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hogan Tobias, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Summit is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Eagle Valley, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 7-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Summit will venture away from home to challenge Middle Park at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eagle Valley, they will head out to take on Battle Mountain at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
