Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lenoir City). Their defense stepped up to hand the Sequoyah Chiefs a 9-0 shutout on Tuesday. Given Lenoir City's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Sequoyah are ranked 244th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Lenoir City and bumps their season record up to 4-5-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two matchups. As for Sequoyah, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6-1.

Coming up, Lenoir City will welcome Walker Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sequoyah, they will head out on the road to square off against York Institute at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
