Baseball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Riverdale Ridge's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

It was close, but on Saturday the Riverdale Ridge Ravens sidestepped the Fairview Knights for a 3-1 win.

Riverdale Ridge's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nick Williams, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Riverdale Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Fairview, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-6.

Riverdale Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, an 8-4 victory against Brighton on the 15th. As for Fairview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-1 win against Frederick on the 15th.
