Salmen will take on a team with plenty of momentum: St. Paul's extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Wolves came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 70-69 W against Archbishop Rummel. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Wolves' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Raiders are ranked sixth).

While Salmen didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 71-40 win over South Plaquemines. That looming 71-40 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Spartans yet this season.

St. Paul's better keep an eye on Marley McKnight. He was instrumental in Salmen's win, going 9-for-13 en route to 20 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Bj Matthews, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 11 points and three steals.
