Riverview extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-12 in the process. They came up short against the Midland Mustangs, falling 18-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Midland, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 21-12 record this season. Considering they have won 18 contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Midland's part, Caleb Webb was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave Webb a new career-high. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Midland got a massive performance out of Cody Hart, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those three runs gave Hart a new career-high. Gunner Buie was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

Coming up, Riverview will venture away from home to challenge Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Midland, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Batesville at 4:30 p.m. on May 5.
