Preview: Perry Panthers vs. Stockbridge Tigers

Perry is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Stockbridge is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Perry Panthers will take on the Stockbridge Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran up and down the field in their prior games.

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Perry walked away with it. They managed a 28-24 win over the Panthers on Friday.

Perry's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colter Ginn, who threw for 382 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakarai Anderson, who picked up 166 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Stockbridge faced Benedictine in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Stockbridge strolled past Benedictine with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 45-31. Stockbridge's win was all the more impressive since Benedictine was averaging only 16 points allowed on the season.

Jayden "duke" Scott continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 310 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. Scott is absolutely dominating the rushing touchdown category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Cobey Thompkins was another key contributor, rushing for 56 yards and three touchdowns.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Stockbridge's defensive line and their four sacks. Kam Reese was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself.

Their wins bumped Perry to 12-2 and Starr's Mill to 10-4.

Keep an eye on the end zone in Tuesday's game as Perry and Stockbridge haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Perry commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Stockbridge struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.9 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Tuesday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more football content.
