Soccer Game Preview: Stone Mountain vs. Riverdale

The Stone Mountain Pirates will venture away from home to face off against the Riverdale Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Stone Mountain is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Mt. Zion just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, Riverdale entered their tilt with Lithonia on Friday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Bulldogs. Given Riverdale's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 137th, while Lithonia are ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Riverdale pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those four matchups. As for Stone Mountain, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-4.
