Basketball Recap: North Tampa Christian Academy Find Success + How To Watch

North Tampa Christian Academy posted their closest victory since January 18th on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wekiva Mustangs, sneaking past 60-57.

Ameeya Steadham was the offensive standout of the game as she posted ten points in addition to six boards and four steals. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ava Wyatt was another key player, putting up eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.

North Tampa Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Wekiva's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jakayla Johnson, who shot 57% from the field to rack up 19 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, and Jasmine Pooler, who went 5-for-9 en route to 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Another player making a difference was Tiana Washington, who had eight points.

North Tampa Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Wekiva, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Coincidentally, North Tampa Christian Academy and Wekiva will both be playing Balboa the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will head out to face the Bengals at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, while the Titans will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
