Softball Game Preview: North Eugene Highlanders vs. Thurston Colts

For the second straight game, North Eugene will face off against Thurston. The Highlanders will face off against the Colts at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: North Eugene has lost four straight at home , while Thurston has lost six on the road.

Having struggled with seven losses in a row, North Eugene turned things around against Thurston on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Colts by a score of 10-6.

Gracie Hibler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Anabel Acosta was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Stiles, who went 3-for-5 with one run.

North Eugene's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-7. As for Thurston, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.
