Softball Game Preview: Galena Grizzlies vs. Bishop Manogue Miners

The Galena Grizzlies will head out on the road to take on the Bishop Manogue Miners at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Galena and Spanish Springs had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Galena lost 18-7 to Spanish Springs on Saturday.

Lucy Makoutz was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Kaylee Fast was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Bishop Manogue got the win against Reno on Saturday by a conclusive 18-1. The Miners have beaten the Huskies the last seven times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Huskies has come to flipping the script.

Galena's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Bishop Manogue, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
