Volleyball Recap: Phoenix Military Comes Up Short at Home Against Disney II

Phoenix Military unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Disney II Titans on Wednesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

While Phoenix Military was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-9.

Disney II found their leader in sophomore Walter Guaman, who had eight digs and two aces.

Disney II picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Phoenix Military is set to square off against their familiar foe Marine Leadership Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Disney II will challenge rival Westinghouse at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
