Basketball Game Preview: York Cougars vs. Clover Blue Eagles

York hasn't had much luck against Clover recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The York Cougars will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Clover Blue Eagles at 4:15 p.m.

York is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 64-12 loss at the hands of Rock Hill. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-6.

Brooklyn Dial was York's leading scorer, having posted five points. Jordan Welsh held things down on the boards with four rebounds.

Meanwhile, Clover entered their tilt with High Point Academy on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Grizzlies, posting a 56-17 victory. The Blue Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 24 points or more this season.

Clover pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for York, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
