Baseball Recap: Toll Gate Triumphs

Toll Gate won the last time they faced St. Raphael Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Titans came out on top against the Saints by a score of 5-1.

Braeden Geer made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Brady Slinn was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Brady Fales also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Toll Gate's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5-1. As for St. Raphael Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Toll Gate didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against North Providence on the 20th. As for St. Raphael Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ponaganset at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chieftains' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Saints' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
