Baseball Game Preview: Escambia Academy Cougars vs. Sparta Academy Warriors

The Escambia Academy Cougars will take on the Sparta Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Escambia Academy has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Escambia Academy managed to slip by Snook Christian Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Escambia Academy came up short against Snook Christian Academy on Tuesday, falling 16-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered against the Eagles since April 11, 2023.

Escambia Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Radcliff, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Sparta Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Monroe Academy.

Escambia Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5. As for Sparta Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Escambia Academy took their victory against Sparta Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2020 by a conclusive 13-0. Will Escambia Academy repeat their success, or does Sparta Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
