Softball Recap: Dugger Union Comes Up Short

Dugger Union extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-2. They lost 16-1 to the Red Hill Salukis. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 16-8 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Dugger Union saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelsey Disney, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. Disney has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

As for Red Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

On Red Hill's side, Rhyan Fiscus made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Fiscus was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Red Hill got a massive performance out of Riley Moore, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Chloe Seed, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Coming up, Dugger Union will look to defend their home field on Friday against Hutsonville/Palestine at 4:30 p.m. As for Red Hill, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oblong at 4:30 p.m. on the 28th.
