Basketball Game Preview: Frostproof Bulldogs vs. Lakeland Christian Vikings

Having just played yesterday, the Frostproof Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Lakeland Christian Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Frostproof is coming into the game on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They walked away with a 30-17 win over All Saints' Academy on Thursday.

Among those leading the charge was Sanyqua Sloan, who posted ten points.

Auburndale typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Lakeland Christian proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Bloodhounds with a sharp 55-35 victory. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Lakeland Christian's win came from a few key players Frostproof will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Khloe Overstreet, who went 10 of 20 en route to 23 points. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Rudi Jessee was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to 20 boards and six steals.

Lakeland Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Lakeland Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.3 points per game. As for Frostproof, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-14.

Frostproof was dealt a bruising 48-9 defeat at the hands of Lakeland Christian in their previous matchup on January 9th. Can Frostproof avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
