Softball Recap: Murphy Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Murphy was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They lost 15-1 to the Franklin Panthers. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 24, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Emma Laney was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Murphy's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Franklin, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-6.

Coming up, Murphy will challenge Andrews at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.13 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Franklin, they will square off against North Henderson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matchups.
