Basketball Recap: St. Anthony Village Takes a Loss

St. Anthony Village lost against Richfield back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The St. Anthony Village Huskies fell 88-79 to the Richfield Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Spartans are ranked 49th).

St. Anthony Village has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.8 points over those games. Richfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

While St. Anthony Village had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
