Volleyball Recap: Fossil Ridge Victorious

Fossil Ridge won the last time they faced Riverdale Ridge and things went their way on Thursday too. The SaberCats came out on top against the Ravens by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the SaberCats.

Fossil Ridge had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 29-27, 27-25, 25-20.

Tannor Christians paced Fossil Ridge's offense, picking up 13 kills. Christians got some help from Joshua Lamsma and his 21 assists. Shane Gerdes controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Riverdale Ridge's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Lee, who had 13 digs. Lee has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times he's played.

Fossil Ridge's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Riverdale Ridge, their record is now 8-6.

Fossil Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Denver East on the 5th. As for Riverdale Ridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against DSST: Cedar on the 5th.
