Football Game Preview: Jimtown Jimmies vs. LaVille Lancers

The Jimtown Jimmies will challenge the LaVille Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jimtown has given up an average of 30.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Jimtown is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight games on Friday. They were beaten by Knox 56-13. While losing is never fun, the Jimmies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Redskins are ranked 42nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask LaVille). They claimed a resounding 45-0 victory over Glenn. The win continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won eight in a row.

LaVille had a senior duo take command as Cole Stafford gained 186 total yards and three touchdowns and Brayden Schwitz rushed for 58 yards and two scores. Schwitz also passed for three passing touchdowns, which is notable because the Lancers are undefeated when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise.

LaVille was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 244 rushing yards. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 86 rushing yards per game earlier this season, but in their last five matchups they've averaged 159.3.

Jimtown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for LaVille, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-4.
