Basketball Recap: Lola Osaigbovo and Lauren Smith Secure Win for Crockett

A well-balanced attack led Crockett over Navarro in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. The Crockett Cougars took down the Navarro Vikings 62-44. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 63-41 back in January.

Leading Crockett to victory were Lauren Smith and Lola Osaigbovo. Smith dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards, while Osaigbovo dropped a double-double on 14 points and 21 rebounds. Smith's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Sadie Peyton was another key player, putting up eight points and 17 boards.

Crockett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 46 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matches.

Crockett's win bumped their record up to 18-14. As for Navarro, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Crockett will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin at 7:00 p.m. As for Navarro, they will take on Anderson at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Anderson will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Navarro surely won't give up without a fight.
