Soccer Game Preview: Cannon vs. Marvin Ridge

The Cannon Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Marvin Ridge Mavericks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Cannon's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Gaston Day with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Cougars have beaten the Spartans the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Spartans has come to flipping the script.

Cannon's offense was hitting Gaston Day from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Kareena Blumer led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Marvin Ridge gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over Providence.
