Preview: Clarke County Eagles vs. Central Woodstock Falcons
Clarke County and Central Woodstock are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Clarke County Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Central Woodstock Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Clarke County comes in on 11 and Central Woodstock on four.
Clarke County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 22 points or more this season. They put the hurt on James Wood with a sharp 51-29 victory on Saturday. Given Clarke County's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while James Wood is ranked 178th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Central Woodstock scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 79-37 win over Riverheads at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Central Woodstock has managed all season.
Clarke County's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Central Woodstock, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
