It's playoff time, and Armijo had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Cordova Lancers on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Royals as they're now sitting on five straight.

Willie Nickson made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Nickson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chase Lewis, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Juan Uscanga, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Armijo pushed their record up to 19-8-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Cordova, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-14-1 record this season.

Armijo will face off against Jesuit at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Marauders will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Royals surely won't give up without a fight. Cordova does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
