Basketball Recap: North Edgecombe Starts off Right with Win over Northwest Halifax + How To Watch

North Edgecombe took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday. They managed a 73-68 win over the Northwest Halifax Vikings. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

North Edgecombe found their leader in freshman Pierre Hewlin, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyzir Mills, who posted 17 points and five rebounds.

Northwest Halifax's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2.

Coming up, North Edgecombe will be playing at home against Hobgood Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Northwest Halifax, they will venture away from home to challenge Rocky Mount Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
