Softball Game Preview: Peebles Indians vs. Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs

For the second straight game, Peebles will face off against Lynchburg-Clay. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Peebles has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Lynchburg-Clay will arrive with three straight victories.

On Monday, Peebles came up short against Lynchburg-Clay and fell 7-3.

For Lynchburg-Clay's part, Noel Barnhill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. Barnhill has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Reese Ruble was excellent, earning two RBI, one run, and two stolen bases.

Lynchburg-Clay's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Peebles, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
