Griffin Miller was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Edie Otero also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Jupiter was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, NSU University had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Gulf Coast as they made off with an 8-2 win. NSU University might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Tevvy Rabinowitz tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Landon Combs and Bradyn Potter did most of the damage at the plate: Combs scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Potter scored a run while going 4-for-4. Rocco Rovetto was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Jupiter pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for NSU University, their record now sits at 11-2.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Jupiter has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .433. However, it's not like NSU University struggles in that department as they've averaged .478. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
