Recap: William Allen Canaries vs. East Stroudsburg North Timberwolves
The William Allen Canaries pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-55 to East Stroudsburg North. While losing is never fun, William Allen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while East Stroudsburg North is ranked 173rd).
East Stroudsburg North was led to victory by Bryceson Dobie and Nate Wilder. Dobie scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Wilder dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Wilder's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Wayne King, who scored six points along with three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for William Allen and nudges their season record down to 2-8. As for East Stroudsburg North, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
William Allen will head out on the road to face off against Louis E. Dieruff at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Louis E. Dieruff knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully William Allen likes a good challenge. As for East Stroudsburg North, they will be playing at home against East Stroudsburg South at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
