Volleyball Recap: Dixie County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Dixie County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Union County Fightin' Tigers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Fightin' Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

While Dixie County was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Union County's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-14, 25-19.

Dixie County's offense was headlined by Kamille Barnes and Averleigh McFarlan, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Riley Whitaker and her 11 assists. Finally, Jeriah Curtis kept Dixie County's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Bella Johns had an outrageously good game for Union County as she had 18 digs and two aces. Johns has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

Dixie County's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Union County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-7.

Dixie County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Bronson on the 7th. As for Union County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Baker County on the 7th.
